Open Letter,

The success of construction projects is crucial for the sustainable growth of enterprises and contributes to the overall development of economic and social sectors.

Project activities in Vietnam, with the participation of many domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises, have achieved strong results with numerous successful projects.

However, alongside these achievements, the project environment was still facing some challenges such as: a lack of connectivity between projects and between organizations/ enterprise to share knowledge and experience in project management; a lack of applied project management methodologies suitable to the specific contexts of Vietnam as many projects were managed based on administrative orders or the habits of the leaders; and a lack of thorough proactive planning or agility and adaptability etc.

Furthermore, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which began at the start of the 21st century, with key technological trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), Building Information Modeling (BIM), big data, advanced robotics, autonomous vehicles, new materials, 3D printing… has a significant impact on labor productivity, professional skills, job allocation, labor replacement, enterprise operating models, data storage, collaboration between organizations, etc., and therefore, is posing both significant challenges and opportunities for the project performance and management.

Faced with the challenges mentioned above, we need to support and help each other build a reliable project environment, laying the foundation for enhancing project management knowledge and sharing experiences, best practices, and project management resources, in order to shape a common future together.

As Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh wrote in his work “The True Power”: “We must help each other to bring out the best in ourselves, because only then can we truly serve the people and the nation.”

Let’s change the old mindset of project management to the new mindset of focusing on professional ethics and sharing and collaborating for a better, more humane society and a prosperous Vietnam!
