Proactive Engagement with Stakeholders
The trustworthiness of relationship between the project management organization and its stakeholders depends primarily on the words and behaviors of the PMO’s leaders. How the leaders behave towards stakeholders influences how their subordinates behave accordingly. In other side, stakeholders look at the PMO’s leaders to have an impression of the entire project management organization culture.
Therefore, PMO’s leaders need to be role models in their words and behaviors, adhering to the ethical standards and core values set by the organization. They need to have a firm grasp of the project’s vision, mission, goals, and plans, not only to communicate them transparently to stakeholders but also to use them as a North Star for their responsiveness and adaptability to the emerging requirements in different project contexts.
By engaging the stakeholders on a foundation of “Trust” we can collectively maximize opportunities for project success, make effective decisions, identify and mitigate risks, and build sustainable partnerships.
